Monitoring the maturity of the fields using satellite imagery has helped to plan harvesting more accurately, with the most mature areas being threshed first, thus minimising yield losses and optimising machinery performance.
We saved around 30% of nitrogen fertiliser in the fields where we applied variable rate fertilisation. We also expected the system to be more complex due to its size and the amount of functionality it provides – but getting started was surprisingly easy and convenient.
Using the variable rate fertilisation maps generated with FarmEasy’s tools, it has been possible to achieve a more uniform plant growth in the fields. The system has also led to savings by reducing the fertilisation rate in areas of the field where peat is present.
